Scientific Research Project Types and Support Limits

Contributing to universal and national science through Basic Research Projects is essential. In this context, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University researchers are expected to prioritize the country's Development Plan objectives and contribute to its technological, economic, social, and cultural development while conducting scientific research and development activities related to their fields of study.

Single-Discipline Basic Research Project Support Limit: 300.000 TL

(TÜBİTAK 1001 Program Application Form will be used.)

Contributing to universal and national science through Basic Research Projects is essential. In this context, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University researchers are expected to prioritize the country's Development Plan goals and contribute to its technological, economic, social, and cultural development while conducting scientific research and development activities related to their fields of study.

Researchers can conduct their studies with a multidisciplinary research approach. Multidisciplinary projects developed within this framework may be supported with higher budgets. Collaboration between departments/branches in health sciences and separate departments in other fields signifies multidisciplinary nature.

Multidisciplinary Basic Research Project Support Limit:: 350.000 TL

(TÜBİTAK 1001 Program Application Form will be used.)

Priority areas determined by the Science, Technology, and Innovation Policies Board are evaluated within this scope. These are research projects prepared in areas that support the vision, mission, and goals of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University's 2025-2029 strategic plan, or proposed upon invitation from the Rectorate. Projects within this scope must be multidisciplinary.

Priority Area Research Project Support Limit: 400.000 TL

(TÜBİTAK 3005 Program Application Form will be used.)

These are research projects involving graduate theses, conducted by university faculty members appointed by the institute as thesis advisors, with their students. Graduate Thesis Project support is not available for graduate studies that do not result in a thesis. Project applications cannot be submitted for students with two semesters remaining in their graduate studies.

Graduate Thesis Project Support Limit:

For PhD: 250.000 TL

For Master's: 120.000 TL

(Depending on the nature of the project, TÜBİTAK 1001, 1002 or 3005 Program Application Form will be used.)

These are projects developed with the participation of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University faculty members and non-university public institutions/organizations and private institutions (nationally recognized foundations, unions, companies, etc.). In such projects, the collaborating institution must contribute a certain percentage of the project budget. Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University provides cash and in-kind contributions in public projects, while in projects with private institutions, it only provides in-kind contributions (human resources and/or the use of university infrastructure).

National Participation Research Project Support Limit: 350.000 TL

(TÜBİTAK 3005 Program Application Form will be used.)

The program's purpose is to encourage the work of scientists who have completed their doctoral degrees within the last five years by providing project support. This program covers projects to support the research of our university's academic staff (excluding associate professors and full professors) who have completed their doctoral degrees, medical specializations, arts competencies, or equivalent specializations and are currently serving in academic positions.

Fuat Sezgin Career Start Support Projects Support Limit: 250.000 TL

(TÜBİTAK 3501 Program Application Form will be used.)

SHORT-TERM SUPPORT PROJECT - A: These are projects aimed at supporting short-term (maximum 9 months) and small-budget research that has the potential to turn into basic research projects.

Short-Term Support Project - A Support Limit: 75,000 TL

SHORT-TERM SUPPORT PROJECT - B: This type of support covers doctoral dissertations that have the potential to develop into basic research projects. These projects support short-term research (up to nine months) conducted by students who have successfully passed the doctoral qualifying exam, for preliminary analysis at the AYBU Central Laboratory. Researchers are not expected to publish under this type of support.

Short-Term Support Project - B Support Limit: 25.000 TL

(TÜBİTAK 1002 Program Application Form will be used.)

Projects submitted by researchers to TÜBİTAK (1001, 3005 and 3501) and received a Medium (C) score according to the project evaluation criteria and scoring system are supported by BAP.

Support Amount to be Given for These Projects: 350,000 TL

These are research projects designed to create R&D cultures for successful students enrolled in formal education programs of our university's undergraduate/associate degree units, to encourage them to engage in research activities, and to encourage them to conduct research.[1].

Undergraduate/Associate Degree Student Participatory Research Project Support Limit: 40.000 TL

(TÜBİTAK 2209A Program Application Form will be used.)


[1] Students who will serve as researchers on projects must be in the last two years of their regular education and have a GPA of at least 2.75. Project applications are not accepted for students with one semester remaining. The project duration must be between six and twelve months. A minimum of one and a maximum of four undergraduate students may serve as researchers on these projects.
