Two Research Projects Led by a Faculty Member of Our Department Receive Funding
Two research projects led by Prof. Dr. Gülnihal Meral, a faculty member of our department, have been awarded research funding.
The first project, titled “A Novel Within-Host Model and Mathematical Analysis of Hepatitis B Virus Dynamics,” has been funded under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Program. Master's student Kader Nur Utkan is participating in the project as a scholarship recipient. The project aims to investigate the mechanisms underlying the spread of the Hepatitis B virus within the host using mathematical modeling and analytical methods.
The second project, titled “Comparison of Local and Global Numerical Methods for Reaction–Diffusion Problems with a Nonlinear Singular Perturbation,” has been funded by the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordination Unit of our university. Master's student Büşranur Bilal is involved in the project as a scholarship recipient. The project seeks to compare different numerical methods used to solve reaction–diffusion problems involving nonlinear singular perturbations, which frequently arise in engineering and applied sciences, in terms of their accuracy and efficiency.
These projects are expected to make significant contributions to the mathematical modeling and numerical analysis research conducted in our department. They also support the active involvement of graduate students in research, thereby contributing to the academic development of young researchers.
We congratulate our faculty member and the graduate students involved in these projects and wish them continued success in their research.
