Second Quality Workshop Held at the Faculty of Business

The second Quality Workshop at our university was hosted by the Faculty of Business on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

The program commenced with an opening speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Dr. Tuncer Asunakutlu. During the session, the Vice Chairman of the AYBU Quality Board and Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatih Vehbi Çelebi, and the Rector's Advisor for Quality, Prof. Dr. Aysun Bay Karabulut, provided detailed information regarding academic evaluation and quality improvement initiatives both in Turkey and at our university.

Highlights from the Opening Remarks

  • Prof. Dr. Tuncer Asunakutlu expressed his satisfaction in sharing the faculty's expertise to contribute to the university’s growing quality culture.

  • Prof. Dr. Fatih Vehbi Çelebi emphasized that these workshops are vital for raising awareness of quality standards and gathering stakeholder feedback, noting the strategic importance of the Faculty of Business in this process.

  • Prof. Dr. Aysun Bay Karabulut presented a comprehensive roadmap for future quality objectives and extended her gratitude to the Faculty of Business for their exemplary "System Book" and dedicated quality studies.

Presentation of the "System Book" and Strategic Tools

In the first session, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Engin Şener, introduced the System Book, a collaborative project designed by the Acting Head of the Management Information Systems Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. H. Kemal İlter, with contributions from the entire faculty staff. Driven by the philosophy of continuous improvement, the System Book is intended to evolve into a dynamic knowledge base through ongoing stakeholder input.

Practical Applications and Internal Evaluation

The workshop concluded with a pilot application of satisfaction surveys developed by the AYBU Quality Board Information and Survey System Working Group. Following the survey, stakeholders conducted an institutional self-evaluation focused on core questions directed at academic departments within the framework of the Bologna Process.
