5/13/2024

2024 summer term internship documents must be delivered to Research Assistant Hasanburak Yücel with signature in B307 between 13.05.2024 and 24.05.2024.

Before internship

  • You can access the documents and steps regarding the internship at https://aybu.edu.tr/insaatmuh/tr/sayfa/1611
  • As explained before; It is mandatory to complete 1 construction site internship and 1 office internship, with the first internship being a construction site internship.
  • Companies will be examined and approved during the document submission process before the internship. Building inspection companies will not be accepted for internship.
  • Family businesses will not be accepted for internship.
  • Although it is not required for both internships to be done in the same company, students who request this will be accepted if their reasons are deemed appropriate (company quality, signature project, etc.).
  • For construction site internship; It must be done at a construction site where foundation, wall, column and floor manufacturing, which we call rough work, can be seen. Construction sites with finishing work such as painting, coating, plaster and whitewashing will not be accepted.
  • For office internship; SAP2000, STA4CAD, ideCAD, Primavera, FLOW-3D, PTV Vissim etc. Offices where you will learn programs and see applications in departments such as statics, hydraulics and transportation will be accepted. Offices that only use AutoCAD or Excel applications will not be accepted.
  • A student who has completed 2 compulsory internships can do 1 voluntary internship with insurance if he/she wishes. Internship documents will be submitted for volunteer internship; but will not fill out a notebook and will not be evaluated.

During the internship

After internship

  • Starting from this year, in addition to evaluating their internship notebooks, students will be subjected to an oral exam. The internships of students who successfully complete the notebook evaluation and oral exam will be considered successful. In this context, the quality of internships will be increased by identifying incomplete internships that are not performed physically.
  • Internship notebooks will be delivered in two ways: written and digital copies (both are mandatory). Completed internship notebooks will be delivered in spiral form to room B307 between the announced dates. At the same time, the internship book must be sent digitally to aybucivilengineering@outlook.com.
  • Along with the internship notebook, the internship evaluation form must also be submitted in a sealed envelope.
  • Black-and-white or colour output can be preferred. Although black and white printing is recommended, it is necessary to ensure that photographs are understandable.
  • The person who will conduct the internship and sign the notebook after the internship must be a civil engineer; architect, contractor etc. internships approved by individuals will be deemed unsuccessful.
  • The relevant internship supervisor does not need to sign every page of the notebook (except for mandatory places). However, the internship supervisor must initial each page.
  • At the beginning of the semester, the relevant internship course CE 300 Industrial Practice I and/or CE 400 Industrial Practice II must be taken.
