Dear Students,
During the Spring Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year, LAW364 Moot Court II will be offered by Dr. Tuğrul ÇAKIR.
Within the scope of this course, students will prepare for the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition. In its first year of participation, our Faculty team ranked fourth in Europe and received the Best Memorial Award. Our second team ranked fifth in Europe and was granted an Honorable Mention.
Participation in this competition significantly enhances students’ employability, provides valuable networking opportunities with leading international law practitioners worldwide, and develops advanced written and oral advocacy skills. The competition is conducted in English and enjoys a high level of international prestige. To the best of our knowledge, it is the only international competition in which judges of the International Court of Justice take part in determining the outcome at the World Finals.
Students wishing to enroll in this course are expected to meet the following requirements:
· Being a first- or second-year student of our Faculty
· Having a very good command of English
· Demonstrating an interest in Public International Law and Space Law
· Having a minimum GPA of 3.00
· Possessing strong motivation
· Being inclined toward teamwork
Interviews will be held on Thursday, 12 February 2026, in the Moot Court Hall (Floor -2). Following the interviews, a preparation period of approximately 1–1.5 years is planned for the selected students.
Students who wish to attend the interview must send an email to one of the addresses below by 17:00 on 11 February 2026. The email must include:
· A short motivation letter (in PDF format; may be written in Turkish or English; must not exceed one page),
· An official transcript, and
· If available, a document certifying English proficiency (such as E-YDS, YDS, YÖKDİL, TOEFL, IELTS, AYBÜ Preparatory School score, etc.).
Applicants will be informed via email regarding their interview time.
We welcome all students who are interested in International Law and Space Law and who are ready to take on this challenge.
