Nursing is a dynamic profession that directly touches human life, bringing together scientific knowledge and human values while serving as an indispensable component of healthcare systems. However, nursing today extends far beyond clinical care delivery. Technological transformation in healthcare, artificial intelligence, population ageing, the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, growing mental health needs, and the internationalization of healthcare services are continuously expanding and diversifying the roles that nurses are expected to undertake.
As a department, our primary goal is to educate our students not merely as healthcare professionals who will secure employment after graduation, but as professionals who can think scientifically, practice based on evidence, adhere to ethical values, demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, use technology effectively, and embrace lifelong learning as an integral part of their professional identity. Our department was accredited by HEPDAK in 2026.
Nursing graduates in Türkiye have the opportunity to work across a broad range of settings, including public and private hospitals, university hospitals, family health and community health services, primary healthcare institutions, rehabilitation centres, mental health and addiction services, elderly care facilities, school health services, occupational health and safety, home healthcare and care services, and many other areas. Employment opportunities for nurses in the public sector also constitute an important component of national healthcare workforce planning.
At the same time, we encourage our students to consider their career goals from both national and international perspectives. Foreign language proficiency, international experience, research skills, and strong professional competencies can significantly enhance nursing graduates’ ability to pursue career opportunities both nationally and internationally.
For this reason, we aim to encourage our students to think beyond the question, “What job will you do after graduation?” and instead ask a more meaningful question: “What kind of nurse will you become, and how will you contribute to the world through your profession?”
Although clinical nursing is an important starting point for our graduates, their career journey does not end there. They can pursue specialization, postgraduate education, academic careers, research, nursing management, education, community health, mental health and addiction services, digital health, international healthcare organizations, health policy, and many other areas of professional development.
For us, a successful School of Nursing is not simply one that graduates students; it is one that helps shape the future of its graduates.
We invite prospective students to join our department and become nurses who place people at the centre of care, are guided by science, follow national and international developments, continuously improve themselves, and have the capacity to shape the future of their profession.
