The University is established with the purpose of training well equipped individuals to contribute to science and technology with research activities answering to the needs of our age under the light of scientific data. AYBU is the 97th university in our country and the 5th state university in Ankara with 7 faculties, 1 vocational school, 4 graduate schools and 1 conservatory. (In accordance with Law no 27648 published on Official Gazette enacted on July 21st, 2010). Since the year 2021 onwards, the university is offering education in 15 faculties, 1 school, 1 state conservatory, 3 vocational schools, 5 graduate schools and 24 application and research centres.
The primary goals of the university are to be in the service of our country and humanity, to direct the future of science and humanity to be concerned with current problems and to lead the society.
Similar to the previous year, the university will continue to offer bachelor’s education in the fields of Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Political Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering and Natural Sciences, Architecture, Health Sciences and Islamic Sciences. Furthermore, it will continue to offer associate degree programs at Vocational School and Vocational School of Health Services and Şereflikoçhisar Berat Cömertoğlu Vocational School in 2020-2021 Academic Year.
In 2019-2020 Academic Year, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Translation and Interpreting (in English), Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Speech and Language Therapy are going to start offering bachelor education while associate degree programs such as Horse Breeding and Coaching, Civil Defence and Firefighting, Three-Dimensional Modelling and Animation will start to offer education.
We are offering entirely English education in the fields of Medicine, Engineering and Natural Sciences, Architecture, Aeronautics and Astronautics, Political Sciences, Business Administration and Psychology Department of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
AYBU Faculty of Law, which has no equal among the state universities in Turkey, continues 30% English education. Similarly, Department of History of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is going to continue 30% English education.
We are offering a Turkish Program in Faculty of Medicine (Turkish Program), Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, Şereflikoçhisar Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts, other programs of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, State Conservatory Turkish Religious Music Program, Vocational School, Berat Cömertoğlu Vocational School and Vocational School of Health Services. Similarly, the students of Faculty of Islamic Sciences continue Turkish education after a year of Arabic prep class.
In addition to bachelor’s education, master’s programs, non-thesis master’s programs and doctoral programs are offered at each faculty. The university, that positions itself as a research university since its establishment, has been taking significant steps towards its adjective with 23.50% graduate programs, a great deal of graduate programs and national and international projects.
With almost 11% international bachelor students, (2483 students out of 109 countries) bilateral agreements signed with 203 international universities, student, academic and administrative staff mobility programs, joint diploma programs and a large number of international academic staff, the university has positioned itself as an international university. With its international bachelor student rate, AYBU is experiencing the right proud of being placed on the top among the universities in Turkey.
The departments which offer bachelor education at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University are the ones whose aim is to train the qualified human resources of our country demands considerably. With the requirement that anyone who receives a bachelor degree education is supposed to speak at least one language fluently, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University offers foreign language education that provides great opportunities to students for their employment in the future.
Although Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University is a newly established institution, it has managed to be a centre of attraction for the academicians who are true professionals in their fields, and has attracted the attention of successful students.
The experienced, active and dynamic academic staff of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University mostly consists of academicians who have obtained their undergraduate/graduate degrees from the pioneer universities of USA, Europe and Turkey.
