In the programme where successful doctors were awarded, our faculty member Prof. Dr. Özcan EREL received the Ibn-i Sina Service Award in the category of "Basic Medical Sciences" from the hand of our President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN.
On the occasion of 14 March Medical Day, our President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, who came together with healthcare professionals at the iftar dinner held at Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul, hosted Prof. Dr. Özcan EREL at his table.
Prof. Dr. Özcan EREL, a faculty member of AYBU Faculty of Medicine, is a scientist who ranks at the top of the "World's Most Influential Scientists" list, coordinated by Stanford University in the USA. He established Innov EREL R&D company in Teknopark Ankara and produces world-class research kits.

Prof. Dr. Özcan EREL, who is a Full Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), developed a kit that measures Thiol and Disulphide and gave more than 200.000 tests with a financial value of approximately 1.500.000 USD as scientific research support to researchers in AYBÜ and Türkiye for free in order for Turkish scientists to be at the forefront and pioneers.

The biochemistry test measurement methods developed by Prof. Dr. Özcan EREL are used all over the world and are also exported to more than 20 countries. Prof. Dr. Özcan EREL is also the recipient of the US-based The Eleventh John M. Kinney International Award, TÜBİTAK and Aziz Sancar Science, Service and Incentive Awards.
