AYBÜ Architecture Students Win First Place in Türkiye in Saint-Gobain Contest
A team of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Department of Architecture students, consisting of Eda Nur Çolak, Nurcan Açıkada and Oğul Can Aydın, won first place in the Türkiye national stage of the Saint-Gobain International Architecture Student Contest with their project prepared under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekrem Bahadır Çalışkan, a faculty member of the Department of Architecture.
Launched in Serbia in 2004 and becoming an international organization as of 2005, the Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest is today recognized as a major international student competition, bringing together more than 1,300 architecture students from over 30 countries.
Organized in two stages, national and international, the contest enables the winning projects from participating countries’ national stages to qualify for the international final. Having won first place in the 2026 Türkiye national stage, the AYBÜ Department of Architecture team will represent Türkiye and Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University at the international final to be held in Belgrade, Serbia, on June 23–25, 2026.
