Abstract:
‘Faster than Nyquist (FTN) signaling is an advanced modulation technique that deliberately violates the classical Nyquist criterion by transmitting symbols at rates exceeding the traditional Nyquist limit. While conventional digital communication systems operate at or below the Nyquist rate to avoid intersymbol interference (ISI), FTN signaling intentionally introduces controlled ISI to achieve superior spectral efficiency. By reducing the symbol period below the Nyquist interval, FTN enables higher data transmission rates within the same bandwidth constraints, making it particularly valuable for bandwidth-limited communication channels.’
