Turkish Exam for Foreigners, evaluating the Turkish language proficiency of the candidates who are eager to be trained in AYBU or in other universities in Turkey in addition to the proficiency of the individuals, desiring to learn Turkish as a foreign language, measures four language skills and it is conducted either with a face-to-face method or as online. The examination is designed to assess abilities in four area of language skills including reading, listening, writing and speaking and composed of those sections. Each section is assessed in itself and evaluated out of a maximum of 100 points. Reading and listening sections are composed of multiple-choice questions depending on the reading and listening texts. 4 texts exist in the reading stage as well as the multiple choice questions in connection with the mentioned texts. During the listening stage, audio recordings of 3 texts of the listening section will be heard and the multiple-choice questions regarding these audio records will be answered. Writing section includes a text/story writing/completion question and an open ended writing question. The story is expected to be completed with a word count of a minimum of 100 words in addition to an opinion essay type open ended writing question with a word count of a minimum of 125 words. Speaking stage of the examination will be conducted by the academic staff either face-to-face or via a live streaming online programme.

TURKISH EXAM FOR FOREIGNERS (FACE TO FACE)
Candidates can take face-to-face exam. They will be ready at AYBU LERAC 30 minutes before at the latest on the day of the exam after they sent their payment receipt to dilmer@ybu.edu.tr following their application for face-to-face Turkish Exam for Foreigners. Each candidate is required to bring his/her own pencil, eraser etc. Candidates will finalize the exam by taking the face-to-face speaking exam following the reading, listening and writing sessions, present in the exam booklet (printed version).
TURKISH EXAM FOR FOREIGNERS (ONLINE)
Candidates can take the exam as online. They will be ready on the online examination system 30 minutes before at the latest on the day of the exam after they sent their payment receipt to dilmer@ybu.edu.tr following their application for Turkish Exam for Foreigners.
Students, to take TEF, will be assigned a username and a password. Log in details will be sent by AYBU LERAC to your e-mail addresses.
It is essential to use a desktop or laptop computer with Windows 8.1 or 10 operating system to login into the sytem and take the online exam. Smartphones and tablet computers will not be used to log into the system to take this exam.
The updated version of the Google Chrome Web browser must have been uploaded on the computer on which the exam is going to be taken. In addition, it should be ensured that the internet connection supports the minimum requirement of speed to take an exam.
A computer with a working camera will be used at all sessions of the online exam. Speakers will be used in addition to the computer with working camera in reading and listening exams. Headphones will not be used in the reading and listening exams on no account. In addition to the computer with a working camera, speakers and microphones (headset is also acceptable) will be used in the writing and speaking exams.
Zoom programme must be downloaded and set up to the computer on which the online exam is going to be taken before the exam starts. The shortcut of the zoom programme must be located on the desktop. Whether it works or not should be checked in advance.
